OUR MUSICAL TEAM

The Choir is fortunate to have a talented and dedicated team of musicians who have served for many years between them in teaching us new songs and developing our sound.  Praise we have earned over the years and the quality we have achieved is due to their patience, musicianship and insistence on high standards.

Musical Director : Adrian Morgan

Adrian is a farmer who began singing in Eisteddfodau at the age of 4.  He later sang in Brecon Cathedral Choir and competed in Urdd Eisteddfodau for Brecon High School.  He sang in three musicals staged at Brecon Cathedral and played the lead in one production. This was translated into Welsh for the 1993 National Eisteddfod on the Royal Welsh Showground and was broadcast live on BBC TV.  Adrian received voice coaching from the late Gerald Davies (Principal Tenor Sadlers Wells) and then with Jeanette Massocchi.  For many years Adrian sang top tenor in the Choir and has stood in to conduct several concerts for Rhayader MVC .

Accompanist : Sirwan Hariri, B.Mus.

Sirwan Hariri (B.Mus), is a concert pianist who specialises in classical and romantic repertoire. Starting out at the age of 14 as a self-taught pianist, he quickly gained acceptance to the University of Chichester where he studied piano under Terence Albright. He won First Prize the annual Chichester Festival of Music, Dance and Speech in 2023 for Solo Performance and Overall Performance in the Festival. Sirwan currently resides in Beulah and teaches piano, with occasional concerts.

Supporters Group

In 2013 the Choir extended an invitation to wives, partners, former choristers and Vice-Presidents to form a group with the intention of improving communications and involving the wider community of the choir in its development.  It is hoped that the group will provide a welcome for new members and their partners and also continue to include former choristers and the widows and families of former choristers.

The Supporters Group meets at least four times in each year at 8pm in the Greyhound restaurant on Monday evenings at 8pm.  The group meets on an informal basis with Megan Jones as its coordinator.
