Rehearsals

Come and hear us!

“Singing is about as good for you as a thing can be…” Howard Goodall, composer.

We certainly agree with the above.  Many members who waited till retirement have said how they wished they’d joined the choir years ago as it would have been a welcome release from the stresses of working life.  It’s great mental therapy and balm for the soul!  Come along to a rehearsal and listen.

The Choir rehearses on Monday evenings between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm upstairs at the Greyhound Hotel, Builth Wells.  Usually we do not rehearse on Bank Holidays and we take a break during August.  Visitors and prospective new members are very welcome to attend our rehearsals, but please be aware that we do a bit of “note-bashing” in learning new material and rehearsals are not like a concert!  If you are considering booking the choir for a wedding or a concert – come and hear us first!

If you are thinking of joining, just come along a sit in on one of our practices.   We do not audition and we allow new members plenty of time to find their feet and their voices. We try to provide as much help as we can as you begin learning. It is hard work, but immensely rewarding – and we have a lot of fun too!

Ask Greyhound Hotel staff to make sure we’re there – they have copies of our latest CD for sale as well as excellent food and drink!

Visitors from all over the world have attended rehearsals. Here are some of the things they said :

Roland and Kathy from Holidaysburg. PA, USA :  “A huge thanks for one highlight of our trip”.

Margaret from Tucson Arizona :  “A pleasure to be here and hear such joyous music”.

Catherine from Wellington, New Zealand : “I’ve finally heard a Welsh Male Voice Choir. Thank you so much”.

Patricia from Buchanan, NSW, Australia :”My ‘sit-in’ on rehearsal was the highlight of my holiday…thanks for your warm welcome and a most wonderful experience”.
